Mission Statement
We are a 501c3 non-profit organization, entitled The Walker Project, servicing both individuals and families of disadvantaged backgrounds from the Greater New Orleans area. Our mission, “To build the futures of youth and young adults through enrichment and skills building today; To prepare them for a greater tomorrow.” is central in the development of New Orleans, La community.
Core Values
1. Installation of hope: The installation and maintenance of hope is crucial to all individuals seeking a process of discovery and change.
2. Sharing: Group activities help foster a feeling of helping others. It also helps those who are self-absorbed or socially isolated find meaning and purpose in life.
3. Resolution of Family Conflict and Grief-Growth: Inhibiting relationships will be explored and unresolved past issues will be worked through. Therapeutic opportunities will be provided and conflicts and feelings revealed and reframed.
4. Introspection: Individuals will learn new things about themselves and will experience positive outcomes.
